These are the units in which the 3DP1/3DP7 CRTs were used. The 3DP7 is unusual in that it has an electrode in the center of the glass faceplate. The electrode is a rod that points toward the electron gun. If the CRT has a circle drawn on it, a voltage to the rod can expand or contract the circle.
