36 LEDs are bright. This flashlight is much too bright to stare into. The overall color is a bluish white. Using an optical attenuator, it can be seen (not shown here) that some of the LEDs are more towards blue and some are more towards yellow. This is from the same batch of 50 LEDs purchased online from LEDTRONICS. Before anyone complains, I did not specify matched LEDs. These are the Ye Goode-'n'-Thrifty LEDTRONICS part no. L200CW8KB-12D 8000mCd white LED with a narrow 12 degree 1/2 angle.
